Hello everyone! Someone who is extremely special to me is running a half marathon to raise money for Kidney Research UK, in memory of her Dad. It would mean so much if you could RT to spread the word. The link is below if you would like to donate ❤️ 2025thebighalf.enthuse.com/pf/veniece-pat…

For the fee paid + when considering the going rate for CFs, I don’t see Gyokores not justifying what we paid. It’s a solid deal for a CF who adds things the team lacks. Three weeks before United (A). Spurs + two Emirates cup fixtures. That’s decent time to bed him in.
Again, just going by the articles I’ve read and to me it’s clear that Sesko’s camp and Leipzig screwed him over. Had the deal been financially similar to the Gyokores outlay, he would be here.
Really interesting articles on the Gyokores/Sesko situation. Essentially, this was Berta driven. Mikel came to an agreement when weighing up all the factors (overall financial outlay the driver), but to cut the story short, this deal wouldn’t have happened without Berta.
Not that it obviously matters But the announcement was pretty trash lol 😂
The volume of work we’ve done to bolster the squad, with it only being July, is superb. Really happy with how we’ve approached the market. It’s been aggressive, with full focus on allowing new additions time to gel before the season commences. Top stuff so far from Berta.
Sesko was always my preference, love the player. But the finances behind the deal became excessive. Gyokores however, the overall financial package is very fair. Adds qualities the team lacks and his incessant desire to join is very admirable. Excited.
Right, let’s get to work
🚨 Arsenal reach total agreement with Sporting Lisbon to sign Viktor Gyokeres. #SportingCP grant 27yo striker permission to travel; medical scheduled for Saturday. Sweden international expected to wear iconic No14 shirt as new #AFC front man @TheAthleticFC nytimes.com/athletic/65103…
More on Christhian Mosquera The demands put on our CBs are big. You need to be sharp over both short/long distances. Most recent example is Saliba covering ground to meet Leao/Loftus Cheek. Mosquera is in the top percentile here from an athletic point of view. 🤌🏾
Absolutely love the player and a certified elite CF, but there was always a limit. The entire financial outlay is far too steep, especially when considering the depth of work we needed to do in other areas.
Newcastle United are likely to want £150m for Alexander Isak - but that’s not all. Throw in agent’s fees, wages and a 4% transfer levy for Premier League clubs and this deal could end up costing £250m over a five-year contract. Can any club afford it? @CWeatherspoon_ analyses…
Actually so so happy with the Mosquera deal. We’ve signed a gem.
‘Willy (Saliba) for example played every minute of the Premier League and we believe that we have to be much more protective.’ This was Mikel a year ago. Signing of Mosquera should go a long way in allowing us to manage the RHS more appropriately.
