Keeping warm in between takes in a quarry on The Baron. The glamour of location filming...

Tony Blake (Bill Bixby), escapologist, professional stage magician & amateur sleuth. Blake was one of a merry band of TV lead characters who have served time on trumped up charges. I always felt The Magician deserved more than a single season.♠️🪄

Remembering actor Robert James Brown, BOTD 1921. Made a memorable henchman in Emma Peel's first outing in Avengerland: faux fisherman and blacksmith, and a silent stalker in Little Bazeley-by-the-sea. Brown was equally adept at playing establishment figures and brutal baddies.

Sylvia Anderson: “I based her on the Scarlet Pimpernel…Who would you expect to be the London agent for International Rescue? Certainly not the lady of the manor!” Cucumber sandwiches, I presume...

Lois Maxwell and Donald Pleasence join Patrick McGoohan in a Danger Man half-hour episode about drug trafficking. Dr No was on the near horizon, where LM would be offered a choice of playing either Miss Moneypenny or James Bond's girlfriend.

Always time for an ITC outing between playing Miss Moneypenny in 14 Eon 007 films. Canadian Lois Maxwell appeared in Danger Man, The Saint, Gideon's Way, R & H, Dept S, voiced Atlanta & Marineville tracking station in Stingray, The Persuaders!, UFO. PVC-clad here in The Baron...

All aboard ITC Airlines, for another hour of action-adventure, destination...the Elstree backlot.

Gena Rowlands: Peter had this incredible range. He became the most popular detective on American television; then there was The Great Race, which is just a hugely enjoyable chase film; then Wings of Desire with Wim Wenders, where you see this whole new side of him. Extraordinary.

PW's agent Thomas Bowington: ‘He was one of the most unique, original & creative actors that I have ever seen. As a man, there were few things in life he didn’t know. He was a mentor on everything from how to make a good cup of tea to how to do a tie & shirt.’ #WyngardeWednesday

A huge thank you to @BraxM for a superb chapter on Catweazle for our forthcoming book on Classic Children's TV. Mark has genuinely captured the magic - no pun intended - of one of the best-loved children's dramas. So good, it has put me in the mood to rewatch all 26 episodes...

A happy birthday to Leigh Lawson. A long, eventful career on stage, screen and television. Photos here: Love Among the Ruins, Polanski's Tess, Dad's Travelling Man and the West End/Broadway production of The Merchant of Venice. 🎂

Wonder if Joanna Lumley suggested ex-boyfriend Rod for a guest appearance as a New Avengers villain. Could have been fun...
