Insanity is not the same as the "scientific" categorization of mental illness today required for mental asylum entry. Insanity was understood as a temporary state of mind, not a fixed illness. Hence why asylums did not exist, a historical fact no MAGAtard was able to refute.
The very word "insanity" has its roots in Latin. Mania in Greek. Yes, they had words, let alone myths, of what we would call "mental illness."
One trick to growing on this site is never be afraid to lose followers. The way an account grows is you gain 100 in a day and lose 20, with a net growth of 80. Also, other larger accounts almost never unfollow, you mostly lose semi-hostile reply guys, etc. Quality goes up.

The problem is that the same traits of disregard for societal norms and taboos that make a person want to publicly embrace dissident politics are also traits shared by con artists, criminals, and other assorted low lives. This goes for any fringe political movement, too, R or L.
