Since I’ve got some new people on my page—welcome!—it’s probably a good time to once again mention my books. The Case Files of the Rocky Mountain Paranormal Research Society books are haunted histories and reports from open minded but skeptical paranormal investigations.…

I've been typing up email addresses people have left on sign-up forms. I have two thoughts. First, when did everyone switch to Gmail? Nothing against it per se, but it worries me that so much of our communication is in the hands of one company. Secondly, we need to start…
Okay, readers and bibliophiles! Time to talk about our personal libraries! How many books do you own? (For our purposes here, we're talking about physical media, not eBooks.) Feel free to put the actual number or share photos in the comments, too!
The spiders are our friends! I always try to tell people: all you need to do is learn to recognize which couple species in your region might be dangerous (for me, only black widows). Even then, they're probably not aggressive, but the rest of them are certainly harmless.
OMG 🥺
Okay, X hive mind: I'm about to shop for some books. Drop some recommendations. What should I be reading? (Authors and publishers: feel free to recommend your own, but if you do, add someone else's too, just to keep it fun.)

Today I've seen several people question Ozzy's religious views. I've seen other people question Hulk's political views. Y'all need to re-read some John Donne: No man is an island, Entire of itself. Each is a piece of the continent, A part of the main. If a clod be washed away…
Saw this when I logged in this morning. Fixed itself now, but gave me a wiggins for a moment. Anyone else get this?

I recently purchased a collection of some 175 of Georges Melies’ films. Many of them, more than a century later, are still more artful and more entertaining than the bulk of what gets produced today. That’s real genius!
It's raining and thundering outside. And I'm sitting in my study, listening to such pleasant sounds, while I read a book about monsters. Such pleasures are the real secret to a good life.
Harry Houdini was famously skeptical of Spiritualism, mediums, and contacting the dead. But he was hopeful about the prospects and didn't really go on his crusade against them until one of the mediums pretended to speak to his dead mother. My own mother, who has some…

Been reading a bit about etymology lately. Happened across one about the origin of the phrase "shiver me timbers." Interesting enough, but now I've got that song from The Muppet Treasure Island stuck in my head.
I discovered a wonderful new word: "bethwack." It was first recorded, apparently, in the 1500s by adding the prefix "be-" to the word "thwack" and thus refers to giving someone a good beating. Presumably it didn't have humorous connotations at the time, but I find it hilarious.
Here’s my one-minute horror movie review, this time sharing some brief thoughts on the new I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER sequel.
Oh no! I’ve just heard that Ozzy Osbourne has passed!
My drunken thought of the evening is that I could probably destroy my HOA completely and totally if I were to invest a few grand in legal fees. Should I try?
