Well to be honest Jiger was a huge downgrade from her Showa counterpart especially with how lackluster how little of her abilities they gave her in Rebirth. Was a huge disappointment especially with the Nezura inspired design.
In a recent interview, Gamera Rebirth dir. Hiroyuki Seshita commented on Barugon's absence from the anime. Seshita said that he loves Barugon. But he couldn't make full use of its freezing ability and wanted to save it for a sequel. Note: A Rebirth sequel has not been confirmed.
