The important thing to remember is that Warners put “Barbie” on the same weekend as “Oppenheimer” in the hopes that it would crush Nolan’s film at the box office, to “punish” Nolan for daring to leave them. Warners built “Barbie” as a spite house, like a jilted lover.
can we all be honest? oppenheimer wouldn't have been as successful as it was if it weren't for barbenheimer phenomenon. it earned almost $1 billion. a standalone release would have fetched 300-400 million at most.
I myself get cringed by fandom names sometimes, and I usually only use them in certain contexts but LET PEOPLE ENJOY. THINGS.
I know But The name is still ass and corny, I hate how this fandom can’t just call things *dinosaur name* from *movie it’s from* like it’s not hard
Watching the making of Prehistoric Planet's lightroom show, and that bit with the "no, that's an AI monster, do not use that" made me chuckle lol. They really benefitted to have advisors be that involved. Still feel afraid that I'll wake up & think that PhP was just a dream.
Another tyrant #paleoart comm! (i was told to give flesh to the picture below 👇)
The lack of a Dark Crystal season 2 still pains me
Unsolicited opinion of the day, soft canon is a cringe ass term that y'all gotta stop waving around like it has any definition. It means nothing, forget about it.
5 Nights at Stan Winston's
a horror movie set in the 90s about a film crew making a dinosaur movie with animatronics and the animatronics fuck up and go on a rampage or a Turok movie which has that cyborg T-Rex boss in it
Idk I'm a bit mixed on this actually. the prequels had their issues but still...
'Alien: Earth' abandons plot elements from Ridley Scott's prequels and exists in parallel to 'Romulus' FX’s entertainment boss says: “Everything doesn’t have to fit together the way you expect from Marvel ... Fans don’t expect that in this universe" (via @Variety)

A Trex Terminator would go so hard

Hans-Dieter Sues and Rainer Schoch. Gabriel Ugueto and Rick Stikkelorum brought Mirasaura back to life with their drawing and digital model, respectively! Funding was provided by the German DFG and @ERC_Research
So basically tree Dimetrodons?
The Mirasaura appendages were clearly not made to glide or fly, and, since they did not contain any blood vessels, they weren't used for thermoregulation either. Instead, the crest was likely a #displayitem, probably used to impress mates and ward off competitors.

However, the typical feather shape, including the central rachis, is formed through a complex branching process. In #Mirasaura, the appendages lack any branching but form solid sheets. This shows that structurally, feathers and the Mirasaura appendages formed independently.
The unique morphology of drepanosaurs makes it tricky to assess their evolutionary position, although it's clear they don't belong to any modern reptile group. We found that they split off before the origin of all modern reptiles, making their crest even more surprising!
