In a letter to Mr. Trump, Chair @BennieGThompson and Vice Chair @RepLizCheney underscored Trump’s central role in a deliberate, orchestrated effort to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election and block the transfer of presidential power.

The 1/6 hearings have shown that Trump knew his effort to overturn the election was illegal & unconstitutional. He did it anyway. Trump’s conduct was illegal under existing law and would be under our new bill, too. Our bill also prevents other future efforts to steal elections.

Bit by bit, excuse by excuse we're putting Donald Trump above the law.  We are rendering indefensible conduct normal, legal and appropriate – as though he were a King.
