This Week in the 10th, Team LaMonica was out in the community: 🎉 Celebrating Pride with our Newark neighbors 📥 Tabling at the 32BJ SEIU Block Party

We ❤️ our seniors in NJ-10! Team LaMonica hosted an amazing Bingo & Chat with our community at Bethany Baptist Church. It was full of fellowship and fun! 😊

Medicaid serves one in five New Jerseyans. Trump’s Big Ugly Bill will put a $3.6 billion crater in the program’s budget as it forces hardworking families to foot the bill for tax handouts for Trump’s billionaire buddies. We won’t forget it. nj.com/politics/2025/…
In the middle of the night, House Republicans passed a $9 billion recissions package that will claw back already appropriated money from vital programs. This is cruelty for cruelty’s sake, and a performance by congressional Republicans for an audience of one—Donald Trump.

So nice seeing Gene, one of NJ-10’s amazing teachers and education leaders today! Our @NJEA champions are true advocates for our students. Every student deserves to succeed and every educator deserves support. I’m proud to be a partner in making that a reality. 🍏
Women and families deserve more—and @DemWomenCaucus will not wait for it to be handed to us. We’re working for it now. We will not stand by while Trump and Republicans try to set back the clock.

Transparency. Accountability. Oversight. That is what we need from this administration. They said they’d go after the worst of the worst, but common sense and the data shows that’s not who they are detaining.
New: When Dems scuffled with immigration officials outside Delaney Hall in May, the Trump admin accused them of siding with violent criminals. ICE’s own statistics, however, show that almost all of the facility’s detainees have no criminal convictions. newjerseyglobe.com/immigration/th…
Breonna Taylor should still be here today. Her life mattered. Trump’s DOJ has asked that a officer charged in her murder spend just one day in jail. One day. This is atrocious—it is what injustice and systemic racism looks like.
The Justice Dept. is seeking a one-day sentence for a police officer involved in the raid that killed Breonna Taylor. The federal government suggested the Biden administration should not have prosecuted him on civil rights charges. wapo.st/4o02P3w
Enjoyed meeting @BoysGirlsNewark yesterday to discuss how the school to prison pipeline is impacting NJ-10 students. Grateful to be a forever partner for the Boys and Girls Club as they help our youth get civically engaged!

Eleven years ago, Eric Garner’s life was stolen. He should be here today. We must be unrelenting—it is time to pass the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act. Injustice can not be allowed to take another Black life.

As we work to undo the damage Trump’s Big Ugly Bill will cause, we must understand the impact it will have right here in NJ-10. That’s why I’ve put together this impact report.
Trump promised he was going to arrest criminals—that’s not what’s happening. Instead of accountability, the administration’s policy is cruelty. cc: @TheBeatWithAri @ahylton26
Republicans want to talk about trafficking, but they won’t talk about the presidential elephant in the room… @HomelandDems have questions about Trump’s affiliation with Epstein, and Elon needs to appear before us to answer them. Now.
58 years ago, Newark erupted in rage, grief, and resistance, leaving our city forever changed. With the resolution I introduced this week, we remember the Newark Riots of 1967 with a continuing commitment to building a city where every life is valued and every voice is heard.
