Representing the people of the 188th district in West and Southwest Philadelphia. Fighting for our future because we all deserve to thrive.
My op-ed today: Senate Republicans killed the clearest path to cannabis legalization in state history. If they're serious about moving forward, they must bring up my bill again or send the House another proposal. We're ready to negotiate when you are. marijuanamoment.net/its-time-for-p…
Hotel workers with @UNITEHEREPhilly are rising up for fair contracts! As our city gears up to host multiple international events in 2026, we’re depending on our hospitality workers more than ever. Let’s get them the fair compensation and respect they deserve.
SEPTA has had to plan for two futures: one where they continue serving our communities, and another where lack of funding forces devastating changes to service. This week, @SEPTAPHILLY will put up signs letting riders know which stops could be cut and which routes could end.
I proudly joined 7 lawmakers to introduce a bill banning face masks for law enforcement and requiring that officers wear identifiable clothing. We will not accept masked ICE agents acting like secret police while detaining our neighbors at the whims of a fascist president.
BREAKING: Dr. Jonathan Caravello, a U.S. citizen and @CFA_United member, has been released from federal custody after days of unjust detention. This is a victory, but it never should’ve happened! We must #EndRaids and free all those unjustly detained.
Families saw their electricity bills increase more than 10% last month in PA. Temperatures are rising, people are running out of money, and now Trump and his billionaire friends are pushing prices even higher in their war against clean energy. pbs.org/newshour/polit…
A new grant program in Philly will provide community development corporations with flexible funding they can use as they see fit. The program was added to the city budget following negotiations between Mayor Parker’s administration and City Council. bit.ly/4lURXC6
The proposed SEPTA cuts and fare hikes aren't a bluff. They're real, and they're coming. Soon. Time is running out for us to get public transit systems like SEPTA the funding they need to keep our economy moving. We need a deal now! inquirer.com/transportation…
PLAN AHEAD! SEPTA’s annual trolley blitz begins tomorrow, Friday (July 11th) at 10 PM.

With @ruephilacouncil and @repkrajewski: As representatives of Philadelphia, we are deeply disappointed in the University of Pennsylvania’s decision to reward a politically motivated campaign that seeks to erase Transgender athletes under the narrative of equity in sports. Penn…

City Council is on its way to Harrisburg to fight for fully funded mass transit.
While Pennsylvania’s public services face crisis levels of underfunding and instability, Big Tech oligarchs make billions monetizing our time and attention — our lives! — through advertising. Totally tax free. Tax the ads!
Big Tech profits off Pennsylvanians by collecting our private data to sell ads. But because of outdated tax code, we will see exactly 0 of that come back to PA. My Digital Ads Tax bill will ensure mega-corporations like Google, Meta, Amazon, and Microsoft pay their fair share.
What an insane thing to say
I applaud the SEPTA board for finally making budgetary adjustments to meet its core functions while bringing its finances into balance. Harrisburg needs to follow suit. #EndDeficits inquirer.com/transportation…
Cutting bus routes, regional rail lines and late-night service would be life-altering for the millions of working people who take SEPTA. And, it will trigger an unimaginable economic loss statewide. The Senate MUST act on our proposal for comprehensive mass transit funding.
Without action in Harrisburg to provide new funding for transit—the SEPTA Board voted today to approve the Fiscal Year 2026 Operating Budget which will cut service by 45% and raise fares 21.5% to fill a $213 million recurring budget deficit. Beginning with the fall schedule…
