Lovely afternoon with Melvyn Hayes yesterday. So many great stories from his long career.

Watching the Man About the House feature film from 1974. I'm now coveting Chrissie's Lucky Luke shirt.

Visited the locations of one of my favourite films today. Thanks to the lovely Neil Brandwood for taking me.

July's archive film @BFI Southbank is The Saint Strikes Back. Don't miss the chance to see peak George Sanders as the smooth sleuth in 35mm, plus Jonathan Rigby on the Saint on screen and some vintage trailers. 8 July 6.15. A few tickets left: shorturl.at/QMsP9

I've written another blog about a forgotten British feature, with a major Hollywood star in the lead role. bfi.org.uk/features/edwar…
Lovely to meet the family of the legendary Ray Deahl at last night's special screening. Ray was @BFI member governor for 8 years and a passionate cinephile who insisted on perfection. He sent regular reports to the director detailing any shortcomings. He's missed.

Now on the Mediatheque at @BFI Southbank: a curated collection celebrating the work of animator Emma Calder, who passed away last year. A near complete retrospective of her work, from Madame Potatoe to The Queen's Monastery to her final finished work, Beware of Trains.
I've written about another forgotten British feature for the @BFI website. One of my favourites - an outrageous post-war melodrama featuring the vivacious Christine Norden as 'Queen of the Half-world' bfi.org.uk/features/idol-…
