Two days into summer hols & one of my 11 yr olds is like the wreck of the Hesperus because she’s not gotten enough sleep. She melted down over a helium balloon shrinking to the size of a potato & I had to pinch myself so I wouldn’t laugh.
But first, a thousand mustard sandwich for lunch. Thousand mustard sandwich - pate spread on bread, with a giant dollop of yellow mustard. It was my favourite sandwich when I was 7.
The Barrett Chronicles is with @stephenRB4. This one is outside his wheelhouse, but I trust his editor eyes implicitly. I am switching gears to draw some illustrations for The Fart Witch. I'm going to go it alone and keep the big bag of money for myself. This is going to be fun.
Eye test today…new glasses needed… This whole Level 50 thing is a bit rubbish.

Making great progress on "The Final Readthrough"(TM) of The Barrett Chronicles. The first 6 chapters down, 28+epilogue to go. The first chapters always need tweaking...even on the 200th read through.
Lunchtime reading...I should probably eat something though.

One more read through, mostly to get rid of the AI-checker-flagging em-dashes. I don't use AI to write. That's stupid and wasteful. Em-dashes are the perfect punctuation for ADHDers who take mid-sentence side-quests. Pisses me off to no end that people call them AI flags.
Day 3 of school holidays. Yesterday K was the Wreck of the Hesperus. Today H is the Edmund Fitzgerald from being over tired. The gales of November came early.

I can confirm that Stephen's rates are reasonable & his developmental reports are top tier in terms of value for money. I suspect that given the time he puts into his work, his hourly rate works out to be quite low...bad for him, good for us.
Writers: I can’t afford you, Stephen. Me: But you haven’t even asked what my rates are?
