Christian fantasy writer. Just having fun and telling stories!
Of all the short stories I’ve written, my favorite is Wayfaring Stranger. In this Christian fantasy tale, a simple farmer does battle with evil wizards in his quest to save one scared little girl. The best part is, the ebook is available for only 99¢! amazon.com/Wayfaring-Stra…
I’m realizing I still check out library books at “Single College Guy With Lots Of Free Time” quantities, but I’m now reading at “Barely Keeping Up With Life And Baby” speeds. Something needs to change
I ran over a baby bunny nest with the lawnmower, but thankfully they were dug deep enough that they survived! Cut some leafy branches to lay over it to give them some shade since I’d cut their nice long grass, and it seems like they’re doing ok! Very cute and squeaky little guys
I met my wife because of Star Wars. I was reading a SW book in college, and a pretty girl sat across the table from me and exclaimed “Hey, I’ve read that one!” I snorted in disbelief (because girls don’t like Star Wars, obviously), then went back to reading.
share a piece of star wars lore about yourself
I sometimes toy with the idea of starting a Star Wars blog or channel, but then I feel like I just can’t measure up against some of these deep lore guys. And then I remember that I’ve read 80+ Star Wars books and some of these guys don’t do anything more than read the Wiki!
I finally finished reading the Iliad! What a fantastic book.
I wish I could attend Realm Makers, but alas, I shall have to wait until another year. Looks fun though, I hope everyone enjoys it and learns a lot!

Sometimes I look for freelance writing or stats analysis jobs on the side, and I always enjoy the frantic, last minute postings. “I need this analysis completed in R in the NEXT 24 HOURS!” Either a student forgot an assignment, or a guy bit off way more than he can chew at work
From now on, Hollywood should only be allowed to remake or reboot BAD movies that could use an upgrade. No more remaking timeless classics, y’all need to find a good idea that was executed horribly and give it another go.
I came home to find that after watching a grand total of one (1) video about canning food, my wife decided to start canning today with absolutely no other research or preparation. The entire kitchen is filled with boiling pots and glass jars.
This made me think, which authors have I read 5 or more books from? In no particular order, here are 10! • JRR Tolkien • Alistair MacLean • Robert Jordan • Timothy Zahn • Louis L’amour • Robin Hobb • Madeline L’engle • CS Lewis • Brian Jacques • ND Wilson
OK, I'll jump in! Ten writers whose books I’ve read five or more of: • Agatha Christie (too easy) • Dorothy L. Sayers • Frank E. Peretti • C. S. Lewis • Margery Allingham • Ellis Peters • George MacDonald • E. Nesbit • William Shakespeare • Jane Austen
My unhinged new theory I only partially believe, inspired by the Iliad: God gave our brains the Uncanny Valley because demons used to take the form of humans to try causing harm. All throughout the book, the “gods” disguise themselves as people to trick or sway various warriors
I feel like I’m living in a very cute horror movie. I’ll hear the wet *slap* *slap* *slap* of tiny hands on the floor approaching me, and then a baby comes crawling around the corner.
My writing journey has been interesting the last couple years. I think my inherent writing ability has improved quite a bit, and I’ve experienced a lot more life. But I am constantly in a brain fog and barely have time or energy to write uninterrupted!
“Hey Ryan, have you ever installed a bathtub?” “…no?” “Well, someone fell and crashed through a tub in one of our hotel rooms, so you guys need to tear it out and put in a new one. Here’s all the stuff, it needs done by this weekend. Good luck!”
I’m torn about this new Superman movie. Some trailers look good, some look like a bloated mess. I love Superman, but I’ve disliked every superhero movie made by James Gunn. But I also didn’t love the Snyderverse, so I’m not angry if they make this more lighthearted and hopeful
We watched Shane over the weekend. Boy, what an excellent movie! Really makes me want to write a western.
I think it would be fascinating to see how scientists’ estimates for the age of the Earth/solar system/universe have changed over time. As a Young Earther, it always amuses me how often they’ve had to push back the ages. It would be neat to chart the change over the last century!
