Zohran’s victory is an earthquake. The left everywhere must dedicate itself to an insurgency against Dem incumbents. The Dem establishment has lost credibility w/ its base in the face of fascist threat. The base is looking leftward for new leadership. We are the opposition party.
I say it semi-seriously: Israel is near the archetype of Fanon's dialectic of nationalism. A nation forged out of terroristic 'cleansing' violence - reclaim dignity from the humiliation of oppression - then degenerating further into tribalism & racism via its national bourgeoisie
Just to put a finer point on this. Here is Fanon in Wretched, in 1961, naming the exact problem that Israel has fallen into like many national experiments before it.
