There is a shocking amount of people agreeing with this post, which I find a little more than concerning. As someone who’s been a gaming creator for 10+ years, I’ve seen firsthand what value having a good community manager does for a game.
Hot take but being a CM is a fake job. You don't need someone to "manage the community" that's not a thing. But even if we pretend they actually do things besides ostensibly browse reddit, being an annoying smug cunt on two accounts isn't in the (non-existent) job description.

Ironically the only way western studios will learn that we don’t want characters made to look uglier on purpose is if people boycott. An ugly protagonist won’t necessarily make a game worse but it will almost NEVER make it better 🤷♂️
Yotei will probably be a good game, but there was no reason to do this to their main character except to kowtow to the agenda. For that reason alone, it is non-buy-nary to me, no matter how good it is. If you don’t send a message, this crap will just keep happening.
