Two suspects charged Friday in the suspected road rage death of Noah Taylor, 22, Saturday on I-24 near Waldron Road. Suspects LaTashia McGowan, 40, and Glenn Branson, 41, both of Legacy Court in Smyrna, were charged with second-degree murder by @RCTNSheriff Det. Burnett.

Many of Rutherford County's roads are rural. Based on 2010 Census data, 93% of TN is rural. Roads in rural areas can be especially dangerous due to the lack of streetlights and other safety features, and may have unique hazards that drivers will have to look out for. #SlowDownTN

Dash cam videos from drivers on I-24 Saturday are requested for the murder of Noah Taylor, 22, of Smyrna. Taylor was killed near Waldron Rd. People with video 7-8 a..m. from I-840 to Bell Rd. call 615-904-3052. His family offers a $2,000 and CrimeStoppers up to $1,000 rewards.

A Rutherford County man died after being shot about 7:50 today while driving Saturday on I-24 near Waldron Road, @RCTNSheriff said. The man’s identity is not being released until his family is notified. If you have info, please call Det. Burnett @ 615-904-3052 & leave a message.

Traffic is being diverted off I-24 @ Waldron Rd. due to an investigation near the Rutherford-Davidson Co. line. Drivers may exit to the right, turn left onto U.S. Hwy. 41 & re-enter I-24 at Old Hickory Blvd. An alternate route is U.S. Hwy. 41 (New Nashville Hwy). Expect delays.

@RCTNSheriff Warrants and Records deputies enjoyed breakfast croissant sandwiches, yogurt and coffee, thanks to McAlister’s Deli. McAlister’s Catering Manager Hope Mann dropped off the breakfast items to appreciative deputies. Thank you, McAlister’s, for the meal.

An unknown person removed a 16-foot trailer from the owner June 22. The vehicle appeared to be a late model Toyota Rav4 with a luggage rack & a rear mounted spare tire. Call Detective Brian Gonzales at 615-904-3041 with information. Thanks for your help.

Scammers use names of a judge and a detective to call people directing them to pay for missing jury duty. Judges and detectives DO NOT call people and ask for money, gift cards or bitcoins for missing jury duty. Don’t fall for this scam by simply hanging up the phone.

The beloved mascot of Little Debbie, Zain the Zebra, delivered Zebra Cakes to @RCTNSheriff deputies who helped locate Ed the Zebra. Little Debbie representatives donated a basket of Zebra Cakes & mini Zebra donuts. Deputies searched for Ed after he scampered across I-24 May 31.
