I named my first car after him. Because it was constantly in flux. (It was a 1983 Ford Fairmont.)
This is Heraclitus. He would introduce the world to the concept of 'The Logos.' Let's dive in to the cryptic philosophy of 'The Weeping Philosopher of Greece': 🧵 (thread)
They had a fantastic opportunity to build character during COVID but instead threw tantrums and put our vulnerable at risk. If they find a coping mechanism to get through an economic it won't build character. You can't build character when you lack the basic materials for it.
The latest defense of the Trump tariffs is that the impending Trump recession will build character. What are a few months or years of unemployment compared to a glorious someday-soon future manufacturing hinges and knobs -or stitching t-shirts and athletic shoes? 1/x
One of the many obviously risible reasons people gave for voting for Trump was that he would "keep us out of a war." One had to be exceptionally dimwitted to believe that.
"Pope Francis’ rejection of proselytizing, his down-to-earth communication style and his pastoral approach made the church look interesting and relevant in a way that propaganda-driven Catholic art could never achieve." My latest at NCR. ncronline.org/node/300536 via @NCRonline
I really appreciated this interview, which helped shed some light on some of the experiences I had in college and graduate school.
On this episode of Glad You Asked, hosts @ejesanna and @RBrattenWeiss talk to journalist @gareth_gore about what Opus Dei is, how it functions, and the allegations of fraud and human trafficking that have been brought against the group. uscatholic.org/articles/20250…

Sec. Lutnick said his mother-in-law wouldn’t complain if she didn’t get her Social Security check. I believe him. Her daughter and son-in-law are BILLIONAIRES! Most seniors rely on Social Security for food, housing, and medicine. This admin only understands billionaires, not you.
Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick: "Let's say Social Security didn't send out their checks this month, my mother-in-law wouldn't call and complain. She just wouldn't."
This was a fantastic conversation. Often when this subject comes up people try to explain away the things Jesus says in the gospels; that did not happen here.
Is extreme wealth a sin? On this episode of the ‘Glad You Asked’ podcast, hosts @ejesanna and @RBrattenWeiss talk to moral theologian @Nifty_Nico about Catholic teaching on the ethics of wealth. uscatholic.org/articles/20250…
Remember how C.S. Lewis created a gang of villains who tried to eliminate "useless" classes, colonize Mars, and cut through governmental red tape to create an immortal, technocratic master race? Remember how he theorized that there might be more than two genders? Good man, Jack.
Surprise! New Ed Secretary has zero clue what she’s doing.
McMahon: Congress appropriates the money going through title 1 through idea programs. Ingraham: What does that stand for? McMahon: I'm not sure can I tell you exactly what it stands for…
The same people banning books and drag shows to ‘protect kids’ are the ones hurting them. Every. Single. Time.
