Parents: where does your child go to school? How did you decide?
My high school junior was encouraged to read Diary of a Wimpy Kid for her English class. That was our last year in public schools. We now homeschool or use microschools for our children.
Kind of. The benefits of Montessori and similar styles is kids learning to find answers for themselves...just like adults do (or should). Basic facts still matter, because you can't question something if you don't know it exists.
Anthropic co-founder Ben Mann on why he chose Montessori for his daughter: "If this were 10-20 years ago, I'd be lining her up for top-tier schools and extracurriculars. But now I don't think any of it's going to matter. Learning facts is going to fade into the background. What…
I highly recommend this. Anyone interested? I know some things.
Teachers could leave the government school system and start their own microschools.
Interesting. Milton Friedman was a big School Choice advocate.
POP QUIZ: Which of Milton Friedman's Four Categories is School Choice? 1 Spending your own money on yourself 2 Spending your own money on someone else 3 Spending someone else's money on yourself 4 Spending someone else's money on someone else
Benefits of having kids. Greater joy Greater purpose Greater fulfillment More fun More laughing

Strong evidence suggesting enrollment losses in public schools are due to more than private choice programs. Massachusetts doesn't have such a program, but since COVID private enrollment has risen more than pre-COVID trends while public enrollment has dropped.
Above average nationally on standardized tests is a pretty low bar these days.
Massachusetts spends a ton and is routinely well above average on PISA scores and other assessments. Our decentralized system makes comparisons extremely tricky. Especially with misleading stuff like this tweet about how much we “spend.” Fun fact: our reading and science PISA…
Chicago Teacher's Union thinks they own your children. What do you think?

We are spending more $$$ on public schools than any other developed nation and getting worse results.

Congressman Burgess Owens says "public schools will get better" because of school choice competition. He is a FIGHTER for education freedom.
Should schools slow down high achievers?
And this is in kindergarten? So what? They are literally kids 😭
