Started this account so I could finally talk comics with other people. Desperate to share my four-colour love.
Happy heavenly birthday to Eisner Hall Of Famer, "Batman," "Detective Comics" and "World's Finest Comics" artist, giant of the Golden Age of comics, Dick Sprang. Sprang was the foremost of Bob Kane's 'ghosts artists' and designed the look of The Riddler and the 1950 Batmobile.
Happy heavenly birthday to Inkpot Award winner, "Batman," "Conan The Barbarian," "Detective Comics," "Savage Sword Of Conan" and "Kull The Conqueror" artist, the phenomenal Ernie Chan.
Magnus by Lee Weeks, from Predator Vs Magnus #1. Art kind of looks like early Mike Mignola. Great use of shadow

Cool panel from The Heap story in Airboy Comics 67. Unknown artist.

A classic crossover for Sunday afternoon reading. Predator VS Magnus: Robot Fighter. What a cover by #BarryWindsorSmith!

Amazing landscape double splash to start off Doug Wildey’s Rio from Eclipse Monthly #1

Reading Eclipse Monthly #1, with art by Marshall Rogers, Steve Ditko, and I’m really looking forward to reading Doug Wildey’s Rio

Just finished rereading The Escapists by Brian K Vaughan, Jason Shawn Alexander, and Steve Rolston (and others)! A quick, fun story about corporate greed vs the love of comics. And Kavalier & Clay might be my favourite book ever! Every comic fan should read it!

Might need more than the glasses to protect the ol’ super identity…

Alien Encounters #3 from Eclipse Comics. Art by Mick Austin. Sultry and creepy at same time

Lois Lane shows that love is love in this classic tale of Superman, Circe, and lionizing our heroes in “The Lady and the Lion” from Action Comics #243. The lion head looks so different from the rest of the art in this strip. Wayne Boring did a great job!

Found this in an Eclipse comic. Seen it a few times before but it’s nice how widespread it was. Must have gave comic fans an existential dilemma - support The King or keep your comic in mint condition. If I cut up a comic for Image #0, I’d like to think I’d do it for this too

Some Joe Quesada and 90s chromium goodness for the cover of Batman 500! Love Kevin Nowlan’s inks over Quesada
