Wrinkled feminist baby boomer loving life. I like politicians who keep their heads way above the sand and care about our future. A 'lefty troll' says Cam Slater
Going off 2023 numbers, scraping same day enrolment will affect 19.4% of voters. 110,000 enrolled on election day & 450,000 enrolled during early voting in 2023. 560,000 used same day rego. & total turnout was 2,884,111 Pure Gerrymandering Source: elections.nz/democracy-in-n…
Same day enrolment hugely benefits renting young people who often move a for work / study / new flats. Older people can’t comprehend moving twice a year or more & don’t realise how awesome same day enrolment is. Shows many Govt MPs had it easy when they were young.
Penny Symonds on #nzqanda explaining how education must be a profitable business rather than a social investment. Or rather failing to explain because of course that's nonsense.

So sad that so much help is needed especially when Nicola keeps telling us NZ is on the right track, Louise thinks jobs are easily come by if NZers just bother to apply and Brooke wants to keep wages low and considers safety and conditions don't matter! thepost.co.nz/nz-news/360771…
Far better than sea bed mining!! thepost.co.nz/nz-news/360762…
Damian O’Connor developed an exemplary process for negotiating FTAs. This included Māori representation, a newly established Domestic Advisory Group and MFAT officials working on the text. A high level of cooperation and ‘buy-in” so unlike anything we have seen with this govt.
At the time this was negotiated McClay said......'pfffft'! Now he is having to eat his words!! Yay!

How things are going for NZ under this 'back on track' CoC, ineptly led by our egotistical ex CEO PM Luxon plus his two permanently-campaigning-for -themselves side kicks. Whatever did we do to deserve such a shambles?? facebook.com/share/p/19HH4D…
When Luke Malpas thinks, and even writes a column, that this CoC has made a mistake...... thepost.co.nz/politics/36076…
Which govt and Trade Minister did all the spade work for that deal?? It definitely wasn't achieved through Luxon's reckoning he was brilliant at 'hustling'!! thepost.co.nz/politics/36077…
A very good question!! What will the Wright family answer?? facebook.com/share/1BkBWGq9…

So far I have not seen a single compelling reason to prevent same day enrolments for voting. Democracy should have as few barriers to engagement as possible. Why does the Govt want to discourage voting?!
Rather than engaging in good faith with Otago and Auckland universities and running an open process for a new graduate programme, the government had "deliberately stacked the deck to produce the outcome they want". odt.co.nz/news/dunedin/c…
What does the race baiting Parmjeet Parmar of ACT Party think of this race-based scholarship at the University of Auckland?
