Maybe you could tie tweeting to shrimp, such that each tweet delivers a tiny bit of torture to one random shrimp somewhere, and this would eventually stop people from tweeting (if they are good at math).
Something about the reaction to my post has me really worried. The controversy has caused a lot of engagement and more followers/subscribers, which could be monetarily beneficial. But what’s stopping someone from intentionally posting outrageous things for engagement?
Seen on facebook: looks like Gaslight Anthem covered Mama, I'm Coming Home at their show in Florida tonight 😭

I wish more professors would do this with their own work! I hear far too many people who are wildly overconfident in what these "detectors" can prove.
Just put a paragraph of a current manuscript into one of those AI detectors. Welp.
I find it very amusing that Andrew Tate gets picked up as the based right wing Muslim influencer when Khabib is sitting right there.
🚨 Khabib says you cannot compare his legacy with Jon Jones and explains why achievements and legacy are different: “Legacy and achievement are two different things, a lot of people confuse those two concepts.” “What is legacy? Legacy is when kids look at you and feel inspired…
Yeah, what kind of world is it where a guy can’t even go on a debate show and say “I’m a proud fascist” without any social or professional consequences. If the average Joe can’t go out in public and praise Hitler without repercussions, what’s the point???
I would just say it probably isn't a good idea for a right winger to go on Jubilee. Far to much risk. They want the everyman crowd but the everyman crowd can't afford to be honest the leftists have made it very clear they will brigade your job and have you fired.
Effective altruists are very good at math. For instance, they managed to mathematically determine precisely the positions most likely to maximally trigger me.
This is the central problem with higher education in the age of AI. We can't require students to do take-home writing assignments (e.g. term papers) any more, because most will cheat and have ChatGPT or Claude or Grok do the writing. But we can't teach critical thinking,…
Yes. Writing is not a second thing that happens after thinking. The act of writing is an act of thinking. Writing *is* thinking. Students, academics, and anyone else who outsources their writing to LLMs will find their screens full of words and their minds emptied of thought.
I see a lot of EAs mad that I take shrimp welfare to be characteristic of the EA movement, yet few shrimp-hating EAs posting thorough arguments against shrimp welfare. Curious!
So one person can steal the spotlight by branding their extra-dunkable take as "EA"? Wait for survey results before you decide their average beliefs.
If I were a shrimp I would want nothing more than to fulfil my telos in both life and death. I would wish to be gently cooked and laid atop a funerary bed of cheesy grits. so i would pass this life with honor and win the respect of my ancestors.

I'll be honest, this explains so much about Carl.
I have never found Monty Python funny.
The effective altruists in my replies raise a very interesting question: what if a group of people were both deeply wrong about something AND incredibly annoying?
I’m excited to share my review of Antón Barba-Kay’s very rich and interesting book “A Web of Our Own Making: The Nature of Digital Formation” in the forthcoming issue of American Political Thought: journals.uchicago.edu/doi/10.1086/73…
Dear heavens this blew up. Just imagine: if each person who liked this post donated $5 to shrimp welfare, nothing of consequence would be accomplished. Really makes you think!
I have to be honest, even if it gets me cancelled: nothing has turned me against the effective altruist crowd more than "shrimp welfare."
"Grok" or "ChatGPT" or whatever imaginary friend you have access to will gladly and blatantly lie to you about the things you ask it to placate you. I'm not saying "AI is bad because it says wrong things," I'm saying if you rely on it for facts, you might get bamboozled.
I just asked Grok 3 to give me a clear chapter-by-chapter summary of a book that I own. In mere seconds it returned a lucid summary of all 9 chapters, explaining the contents and key teachings of each and noting where there were exercises or quizzes. All 9 chapters. The book…
