The classic 'Lyre' which gives it its name. Melbourne, Victoria, Australia

Even better when it started to display. Superb Lyrebird, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia
Amazing encounter with Superb Lyrebird just outside Melbourne. Various pipes and whistles and finished with a Kookaburra laugh. Magical.
Exquisite feather detail on Greater Cormorant, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.

Lewin's Rail - one has settled in a small pool, smack bang in the city. It arrived 3 weeks ago & birders from all over Australia are coming to see it as it 'just isn't seen'. Chatting to one birder with a 700+ list of Aussie birds and it was his first. Brisbane, QLD, Australia

One of my favourite families to see - because so bloody difficult but a bit of local knowledge turned up this Noisy Pitta in Brisbane Botanical gardens.

Brolga- easily confused with Sarus Crane and indeed considered one species upto the 1970s. Dewlap is the diagnostic feature.
