Rhamondre Stevenson just told reporters that the focus today was picking up positive yards on first down. Looking to avoid penalties and negative plays. Helps explain the number of short throws we saw today. Can’t go broke taking a profit.
🏈 Big emphasis on the short passing game, it seemed. Drake Maye completed 14 of 15 competitive attempts. Many of them close to the line of scrimmage. His final attempt was batted at the line (appeared to be Jeremiah Pharms with the PBU).

Just discussed this play on @ZoandBertrand. @scottzolak was on it. Looks like a "sack" by Marcellas Dial on a corner blitz. Got by tight end Jack Westover. Doesn't take away from the catch made by Williams, but pressure was an issue at times for the offense today. Pads soon.
