Damage Survey Update: The National Weather Service in Grand Junction, CO, has rated the fire whirl/tornado that struck San Juan County, Utah on July 12, 2025, as an EF2, with estimated peak winds of 122 mph. This is the first fire whirl/tornado rated EF2 since Sept 5, 2020.

Latest guidance suggests #monsoon action is still on schedule for sometime next week, likely towards the middle or end of the week. However, I've found some of the best, isolated lightning storms occur right before the higher RH arrives.
