Goal: outlive everyone born in ‘43. Except Carly Simon!
The Pacers former radio voice, Jerry Baker, used to call the games using Pacers nicknames or first names to identify players. “Freddie out front, over to Billy, inside to Mel, out to the Rahjah, back inside to Neto, over to Big Mac…”
I hope you continue to feel his energy, Peter. I know he will always feel yours

Very cool pic Pete Thanks for sharing I was a Sixers season ticket holder from 98-00 That guy gave us fans lots of great memories
And the @NBA shamelessly blackballed Hodges because he dared to speak back to power - specifically George H.W. Bush at the White House readjack.substack.com/p/exclusive-cr…
As Dave Zinkoff would say after 3 O Boards in a row……Hoooly Mosesss!!
He was ranked higher than Thomas 77-79 for sure but of course he wasn’t better but at the time he was a 4 year starter at Bloom we played him in 77, 78 &79. He was good had some big games but peaked early in his career.
I was a little apprehensive about asking Moses to sign this caricature that wasn’t very flattering. I put it in a folder to huge most of it. He signed it and then OPENED it. He started laughing and said, “I’ll be back.” He showed it to all his teammates and handed it back to me.
I was born in Petersburg, VA two years after Moses and moved to Brockton, MA when I was a 3 year old. I've always thought it was cool to share hometowns with three of the most badass athletes of the last century: Moses, Rocky Marciano, and Marvelous Marvin Hagler.
Moses and his roommate Andrew Toney made us run errands for them at the Hyatt hotel before signing. During 1983 playoffs in Milwaukee. Had no problem being exploited child labor that day.
an exaggeration by a newspaper headline writer… And everybody else has just gone along for the ride…
