The gas lobby tried very hard to make sure this video never saw the light of day
An apparently necessary reminder that the Tory government rightly cancelled a bunch of hydrogen heating trials, mostly because the local residents reacted unfavourably to the prospect of this happening in their kitchens.
The Anti Net Zero crowd today. The inside of their heads are a mess of contradictions.

By now we should be able to articulate clearly not just when, but how we will bring energy bills down. Locational pricing is the only workable plan for reducing bills anyone has put forward. There is no other credible option on the table. Time to just get it done.
🔺EXCL: Boss of Labour’s GB Energy admits to @SkyNews that a pledge of 1000 jobs for Aberdeen HQ could take 20 years. 📺In his first TV interview, Juergen Maier also repeatedly refuses to tell me when voters can expect £300 off their energy bills. 🧵 1/3
It's not just about spreading costs fairly, but the investment opportunities too. The government should give every community the chance to invest in their own energy solutions, not just rely on a few large companies backed by international finance. theguardian.com/environment/20…
Things that this place thinks I should be alerted too. This will not end well.

Seeing some claims that the Clean Heat Market Mechanism will put up boiler prices by £120. This was a lie last year as I wrote for @Installer365 and it's an even bigger lie now. Worrying to see such disinformation esp. during climate negotiations at COP. installeronline.co.uk/green-energy/a…

This is a total market failure in the UK, and we all feel it daily. It means dearer EV charging, electric heating, goods, services… literally everything. Electricity is the foundation of everything we do, and expensive electricity is a real pain. Roll on market reform 🍃☀️🔋⚡️
However bad you think things are in the UK, it’s worse

Grass to energy gets blown away by the wind energy and heat pump combo! 🌬️⚡️
And they last about 10x longer too (so cost per cycle has gone down 10x faster still).
Not sure there's a single chart that better summarizes the relentless improvement of batteries. Costs down over 90%, energy density up ~5X. In just over 20 years. Innovation is incredible. Chart from @RockyMtnInst rmi.org/the-rise-of-ba…
The total amount of metals needed for the energy transition (that can also be recycled) is far smaller than the total weight of fossil fuels we burn away each year. Net zero means more metals, but less extraction from the Earth. My newsletter this week: bloomberg.com/news/articles/…
What an interesting idea.

This is a new one for me. Negative wholesale price for electricity during the middle of the day tomorrow during the working week. I guess we are going to meet a huge amount of our national electric demand for PV and wind.

This very large heavy thing — a synchronous condenser to be more precise — which travelled slowly through Ipswich today is an essential addition to the gb electricity grid as we convert to 100% zero carbon. The transport weighed 356 tonnes. 81 meter long. conradenergy.co.uk/energy-generat…

I never put chemicals, including inhibitor, in heat pump systems. But what one does? I’m diagnosing 8 month old ufh hp install with dirty water that smells like a swamp and produces v fine black sediment. Is this simply biodegraded inhibitor? @betateachpod @plumbers_urban
