As an aspiring brain scientist, my project was to discover the brain implementation of Opponent Colors Theory, the accepted explanation of color appearance. It took 20 yrs of trying (& failing) to find the corresponding neurophysiology, to realize the theory is wrong #color 1/8

Sophie Wuerger has died of cancer complications. Sophie made important contributions to color science; her database of spectral samples of skin is invaluable. She was the energy in the room that made a scientific discussion sizzle, she had so much life left. I miss u @SWuerger

Our new paper on what predicts infant looking times and adult aesthetic ratings of images, and the relationship between adult liking and infant looking doi.org/10.1167/jov.23… Infant data was collected remotely via Zoom, and lots of new image analysis functions were written 🌈
