I spent the morning with my small, perfectly formed Community Safety Team - thick end of 100 years policing between them. It holds you to the ground when you hear issues as experienced by residents. Vital work. If you don’t feel safe in your own place, what else matters?

I was so pleased to visit Ty Tudor today. The first children’s home @MonmouthshireCC has built and staffed itself - 4 children returning to their locality soon There will be more of these. I was told in no uncertain terms today: “We will build beautiful homes for our children”

Schools are out for summer in a few days -let’s hope there is sun and fun ahead for all children & young people. Summer recess marks goodbyes for educators as retirements and promotions kick in. Thank you all and the wider school community for another year of great public service
