Any Sunday in Chepstow is a good day, particularly down on the riverbank, and this gives so many more reasons to pay this lovely town a visit, from either side of the border 👇
Visit Chepstow High Street on Sunday 27th July, 10am–3pm for a fabulous shopping experience, packed with artisan food, handmade gifts, crafts and more! The High Street will be closed to vehicles during the market, so please plan ahead.
I’m having a bit of a ‘love-in’ with Chepstow at the moment - it really is a lovely town with the richest history but it’s so much more. The Chepstow Show is imminent and this Facebook grab of Paul Griffiths comments gives you a real flavour of the social hive it is @visit_mon

I spent the morning with my small, perfectly formed Community Safety Team - thick end of 100 years policing between them. It holds you to the ground when you hear issues as experienced by residents. Vital work. If you don’t feel safe in your own place, what else matters?
Exciting news for Monmouthshire and another great reason to visit the county. On 6 September we will be co-hosting the penultimate stage of @TourofBritain with @torfaencouncil @visit_mon - will be a great day out 👇

It’s important that residents in Monmouth and surrounding areas read this. There seems to be a fair bit of anxiety being generated without just cause. For those that don’t know @LauraWrightAber is the Cabinet Member for Education - sources don’t get better 👇
I'd like to reassure everyone that there are no plans to close Kymin View Primary School in Wyesham. I'm very disappointed by the deliberate misinformation that has been spread about this, causing so much anxiety. Please see fuller statement below 👇 tinyurl.com/KyminView
Nice to see the flag of Monmouthshire flying proudly on right of shot. Black and blue with three yellow fleur de lys for the uninitiated (but how would you not know that ?? 😁)
Today we celebrate Historic County Flag Day! Parliament Square is flying high with all 56 county flags from across the UK. These historic counties represent not just geography, but the deep-rooted traditions, culture and identity that make Britain unique.
I was so pleased to visit Ty Tudor today. The first children’s home @MonmouthshireCC has built and staffed itself - 4 children returning to their locality soon There will be more of these. I was told in no uncertain terms today: “We will build beautiful homes for our children”
Not to shabby 👇
Monmouthshire County Council has been awarded the highest score of any local authority in the UK for its work on Waste Reduction and Food, in the recently published Council Climate Action Scorecards. tinyurl.com/3m8n88kt
Schools are out for summer in a few days -let’s hope there is sun and fun ahead for all children & young people. Summer recess marks goodbyes for educators as retirements and promotions kick in. Thank you all and the wider school community for another year of great public service
🎶 They’re here, they’re there, green flags everywhere 🎶 This highlight reel focuses on Caldicot Castle, Abergavenny Castle Meadows, Tintern old Railway Station and Rogiet Country Park - stunning spaces for everyone to enjoy and there are many more … facebook.com/share/r/1CkpqM…
It’s very good news Monday. I love this building. It’s amazing and it’s going to get better. Thanks @HeritageFundUK

The head of a global water treatment firm has offered to consider treating and bottling the 50 million litres of spring water that have to be pumped out of the Severn Tunnel daily to stop it from flooding. ✍️@ShiptonMartin wp.me/p8Mk4U-12cJ
A big day for Monmouthshire tomorrow as we host National Armed Forces Day Cymru 🏴 1000’s will be at Caldicot Castle & Country Park to enjoy a thrilling programme. There will be a Spitfire fly past, fitting given founder of Rolls Royce, Charles Rolls, was a man of Monmouthshire

That’s such a lovely message @UskTownCouncil - you all work so hard to hold your deserved title of ‘The Town of Flowers’, it’s lovely to be able to lend a hand 🌷 🌺

This is something for @AbergavennyToS and the whole of @LoveYFenni to feel very proud of this morning. This is some achievement

Not a bad office for the afternoon. I ❤️ Caldicot Castle and its surrounding Country Park (particularly in the ☀️)

Congratulations to all those honoured in His Majesty the Kings Birthday Honours list.I am a particular fan of the British Empire Medal category. That’s where you find lots of people who go out on wet weekday nights year on year to help others in their community(and I like that)👏

It’s a good day for @USNBuckles and all @magorstation (past and present) - a decade plus of community action, often against the odds, has paid off in today’s spending review. A big step forward for your ‘walkway dream’. Stalwarts political and community based - well done 🚂👏👏
It’s 1999. BSE is ravaging farming across the UK. Two farmers have a chat about starting a food festival. 25 years on, it is acknowledged as one of Europe’s greatest. So many try to copy, but you cannot clone authenticity. This is ABEGAVENNY FOOD FESTIVAL in Monmouthshire 🍱
This is the historic food festival in Wales which has been ranked one of the best in Europe nation.cymru/culture/the-we…
It’s Welsh food and farming week! A cracking time to show your support for local farmers 👇
