people hating on the idea of non-mainline characters in spinoffs is literally just contrarianism and forced. people are allowed to like the NPC racers in mario kart world but they're always so pretentious about it and putting down other characters that it looks forced
we listen and we don't judge: mario edition.
Sometimes I get the feeling the mainline Mario purists who only want basic NPC characters in the spinoff games don't actually like Mario because you tell them you can add both Cow and E. Gadd to the game and they're still not satisfied and call you an RPG slop lover

Ngl I never understood the people who complain about funny joke characters in games. These are wacky party games with the intended audience of kids and families, funny goofy inclusions like these are always so fun for me.
