Our Heavenly Father’s plan is a plan of HAPPINESS. Our wonderful visit with members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and friends of other faiths in the Philippines has convinced me of this more than ever. The joy we saw on the faces of those we met was…
We really are God’s children—and He really does love us. Jen and I consider ourselves absolutely blessed to have been reminded of this profound truth as we visited with the Secuya family in their home in Cebu, Philippines. Their faith in Jesus Christ strengthens us. Our…
It was a pleasure to meet again with His Eminence Cardinal Pablo Virgilio David in Manila, Philippines yesterday. Upon learning more of Cardinal David’s work to minister to those in detention facilities, I was reminded of the Savior’s teaching in Matthew 25:40—“Inasmuch as ye…

Imagine you are hearing for the first time that you are literally a child of God. You really are His cherished daughter. You really are His precious son. And the path you are on is His plan of happiness.
I had the wonderful opportunity to speak with an inspiring group of recently returned missionaries in the Philippines. In our discussion, I offered them the same counsel that I would offer to all of our wonderful returned missionaries: Don’t go back to who you were before your…
Words cannot describe the beautiful reception we received as we visited Maa Elementary School this week. We participated in a ceremony celebrating an initiative that so many good and faithful members and friends of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints have been…
You are loved more than you can imagine. Yes, you will face challenges. We all do. But please remember this: there is nothing beyond the reach of the infinite atoning gift of our beloved Savior, Jesus Christ.
The most important message any of us could receive is a reminder of who we are and how we are loved by our Eternal Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. Revelation from our loving Heavenly Father is a gift that allows us to feel these reminders often. May we all humble ourselves as…
When we are in the midst of grief, we often want the world to stop to grieve with us. Yet, the world keeps moving. In this moment of grief for my family, we are again so grateful for the peace we find in Jesus Christ and His gospel.
What a blessing it was to be in beautiful New Zealand for the dedication of the Auckland temple at the beginning of this Holy Week. May we seek and find the Savior as we celebrate this special week—and throughout our lives as we attend the house of the Lord.

Small acts of kindness and service lead to a life filled with love for our Heavenly Father, devotion to our Saviour Jesus Christ, and true joy.
Because of the loving plan of our Heavenly Father for each of His children, and because of the redeeming life and mission of our Saviour, Jesus Christ, we can—and should—be the most joyful people on earth!
Heaven is not trying to keep us out. We all make mistakes, and we are blessed with a special kind of love and mercy from our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ that makes repentance possible.
I love this time of year when we gather as families and loved ones to remember the birth of our Savior. Yet, amid our gatherings, gifts, and events, our schedules can become overwhelming, and we may feel weighed down by the pressures of the holiday. Sometimes the expectations we…
Everything about the Father’s plan for His beloved children is designed to bring everyone home.
During the dedication of the Tallahassee Florida Temple yesterday, I was again struck by the sacred nature of the house of the Lord. In this sacred space, where earth and heaven meet, we come to receive solace, peace, and refuge at any time, but especially when we feel lost. In…

Our Father in Heaven sent His Son Jesus Christ to Atone, to help, to heal, and to demonstrate the pure love of our Father in Heaven. He yearns to have us all come home.
As fellow children of our Heavenly Father, it would do us well to talk with and listen to the thoughts and ideas of those who don’t agree with us. If we do this with an open heart, we’ll be blessed to understand one another and become a force for peace.
