in the wake of 3DGS, the Triangle Splatting has made some rounds lately (trianglesplatting.github.io). I quickly toyed a bit with them here: skal65535.github.io/trisoup/index.… => the blending function is a bit too complex to my taste. Maybe use some barycentric coordinates instead?
Although less useful than circumscribed circle, the inscribed circle has -imho- easier equations, esp. w/ barycentric coordinates. See: shadertoy.com/view/tXd3W4 (it came up in trianglesplatting.github.io triangle splatting, where phi(s) needs the inscribed circle. @rvandeghen)
Light version of @PierreTerdiman 's Zero-Byte-BVH here: skal65535.github.io/BVH/ The idea is to order the triangles as a binary tree by groups of 6 triangles, each group defines a bounding box to test. If hit, recurse both half of the remaining triangles. @DaKangz : WebGPU!
