Pam Ayres MBE
@PamAyres
This is the real Pam.
I’m afraid these four little hedgehogs were rescued from being kicked around in the street.
Aw, good for you, Pam. Godspeed to these dear little souls. What a very fortunate start to life they'll have there with you. 🥰
I’m rehoming four young hedgehogs from RSPCA Oak & Furrows Wildlife Rescue near Cricklade, so today I bought these new hedgehog boxes for them, from lovely local company Wildlife World at Tetbury, who make brilliant, well made, wildlife homes. My dog came along to advise.

IMPORTANT - new #hedgehog campaign launched today ... 'Go WILD for Hedgehogs' is a wonderful idea and encourages us to ease off on the gardening - a win:win really! change.org/p/help-save-br…
Thank you, Pam, for giving Ella a wonderful home. For anyone who has lost a beloved pet, Blue Cross has a free and confidential Pet Loss Support service which is available 365 days a year bit.ly/3GL9ttt
My friend's beautiful little son Felix has been diagnosed with a little-known degenerative disorder. If you can, please help this family at a brutal time, and perhaps share to increase awareness of a cruel illness. gofund.me/95eb980d
I was so pleased to be involved with this project, where ten poets were asked to write a piece which Russell Hepplewhite then set to music for choirs to sing. As an ex-folkie, I know how much people love singing, and I hope my contribution, “Leaving” will be nice to perform.

This was Ella, my beautiful Munsterlander. I adopted her from the Blue Cross in Burford and she was the kindest, sweetest friend I could ever have had. I still miss her.

Two efforts from my garden this morning. Majority of my plants parched and desperate.

A couple of weeks ago I was one of the speakers on Cunard’s Queen Anne for a trip along the coast of Spain, which was lovely. We visited La Coruña which was hilly and wooded and beautiful. Here’s a YouTube recording of one of my performances on the ship. youtube.com/watch?v=T2Xbjh…

Flowers from my garden this week. My new dahlia Sweet Suzanne, which I bought as a lovely apricot colour has gone yellow, so my effort this week is a bit ice-cream coloured. Still nice. Waiting for some snapdragons and zinnias to bloom now.

That’s really kind, thank you but all my arrangements tend to be the same shape. They’re still a lovely luxury to have though. Amazing that these stunning blooms come from the strange tater-like tubers that turned up months ago in a brown paper bag.
You have such a great talent with flowers
Thank you. The tubers were from hartsnursery.co.uk and I’m so pleased with them. They’re a great addition to my cutting garden.
Your dahlias have flowered so early. Lovely colour and display
Well it’s June and I’ve resolved again to use garden flowers & not buy supermarket ones. This is a beautiful peachy coloured dahlia called Sweet Suzanne bought this year. Sadly poor for bees as it doesn’t open fully. Unsure about the salvias but florist working against the clock.

I’m asleep. I cannot hear that of which I am being accused.
