The EU gave platforms 12 months to comply with "strict" age verification guidelines, which are currently being tested in Denmark, France, Greece, Italy and Spain. Seems like they're capitalizing on the UK's internet censorship hijinks as a good excuse.

It turns out that the "Tea" app DOXXES all its users by uploading both ID and face verification photos, completely uncensored, to a public bucket on their server
Apparently you have to dox yourself to use Discord in the UK now, ridiculous. Reminder that ID verification was never about "protecting children", it's about control because anonymous anime pfps posting wrongthink online is inconvenient to those in power.
