Our newly elected East Midlands Health & Safety Committee. The Committee is made up of health and safety reps from across the different industrial sectors that Unite represents in the workplace and works on improving workplace health and safety for all members.
Over 200 of @UniteEastMids finest Health and Safety reps came together for our annual health and safety conference. Some fantastic speakers and debates had making sure we put health and safety at front and centre of our Industrial fight back. Let’s make all workplaces safer ✊🏾

The @UniteEastMids family out in force at yesterday’s Derby Silk Mill festival. Commemorating workers who were locked out between 1833-34 which led to them forming a Trade Union. We have a proud history as a movement and today we continue to fight for workers and our communities
Great to see so many Unite members out at Derby Silk Mill Festival yesterday, in spite of the weather ⛈️☔️🦆 The festival commemorates the Derby Silk Mill Lockout of 1833-34 where workers were locked out of the mill for forming a trade union in response to cuts in their pay.

Artificial Intelligence, if left unfettered, unchecked and without good Trade Unions involved in how it is used in the workplace is the single biggest threat to workers and their jobs. We need to be at heart of any implementation of AI- to ensure its use is applied fairly 👇🏾
