We continue to applaud our Health Education Volunteers (HEVs) in Bwaise slum, Kampala city engaged in household education on proper waste disposal, sanitation & hygiene. We are optimistic that this empowerment will lead to a waste free , healthier & & disease free community

Hepatitis infection (liver disease) is a silent killer that many ignore simply because it may not show signs at early stages . It can only be detected by a health worker . We encourage early screening for Hepatitis to be able to get early treatment or sustain prevention.

Yesterday, we joined the Bwaise slum community for the 1st phase of massive waste pick-up by designated service providers @KCCAUG . Our Health Education Volunteers (HEVs) actively engaged & supported households to collect & ferry their waste to the waste trucks #ClimateHealth

As we prepare Bwaise slum for periodic waste pick-up by service providers from @KCCAUG , our Health Education Volunteers (HEVs) are alerting the population for readiness We are reducing open waste that has overtime affected public health by increasing flooding intensity

Evidence based , objective, and transparent reporting is a prerequisite for fighting mis & dis-information during public health emergencies. Building the intellectual capacity of the fourth estate reinforces expert risk communication.
The Ministry of Health, in collaboration with @UNICEFUganda and @ACME_Africa, is conducting a media orientation in the Kigezi and Greater Rwenzori regions on the reporting of public health emergencies in Uganda. Key discussions include an overview of recurring public health…
A great infrastructural achievement. It's however important to ensure uninterrupted availability of medicines & supplies in these facilities to prevent shortage and related negative outcomes .#PurposeHealth

The @UNAIDS E.D ,Mrs .@Winnie_Byanyima reveals a groundbreaking innovation of a new HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis drug-Lenacapavir.. The bi-annually injected drug which costs USD 28000, is already certified for use . This is anticipated to change the HIV landscape
Our Health Education Volunteers (HEVs) are doing great . The door to door health education approach in Bwaise slum is positively impacting behaviour & practices for waste disposal., sanitation &hygiene With these efforts, we are able to minimise flooding & related health effects

We believe that empowering marginalised communities to build their resilience against climate change fosters equity & drives sustainable development. Our focus on slums is deliberate as they face disproportionate effects of climate change. #ClimateAction #PurposeHealth
@PHCAfric is supporting @KCCAUG to address the waste problem . Our investment is in behaviour change using Health Education Volunteers to implement Household Cluster healhh education model We seek to address clogging of drainage systems➡️reduction in flooding & related diseases
Among the tasks of our Health Education Volunteer (HEV) in our efforts to mitigate the effects of climate induced flooding in Kampala slums is ensuring clean water sources . We are happy to see one of the HEVs in Bwaise doing onspot checks to ensure safe & clean water @KCCAUG
Our efforts in fostering proper waste disposal in Bwaise Slum are yielding .There is a visible single disposal point in most areas, signalling a shift in behaviour and practices in waste management . We aim to see a reduction in flooding intensity and associated doeseae risks.

Earlier today, our partnerships coordinator,@BBernadatte, handed over IEC materials - posters ,T-shirts to @NatukundaMario,on behalf of @MinofHealthUG department of Health promotion. We are strengthening education on climate change & prevention of related health effects
