Today, Chair Edward Burroughs III launched the Senior Support Fund — a nearly $5M fund provided by the MGM National Harbor Local Impact Grant to assist District 8 seniors with mortgage/rental assistance, utility bills, property taxes, etc. It will benefit close to 3,000 seniors!




This week, Council Vice Chair Krystal Oriadha (District 7) took her 'Community Walks' series to Penn Station alongside Police Chief George Nader, local community advocates, residents, and more. She is committed to ensuring retailers and business owners are good neighbors to all!
✨D5 SPOTLIGHT: Recently, District 5 Council Member Shayla Adams-Stafford visited the Bladensburg Fire Department and met with the COO of Urban Edge Properties to discuss retail in District 5. Two healthy options and a bookstore are in the works for Woodmore Towne Center!

Chair Burroughs, Vice Chair Oriadha, and Council Members Ivey and Adams-Stafford joined Gov. Wes Moore today at UCAP in Capitol Heights as he announced a new Unified Benefits Application, streamlining the application process for benefits like SNAP, WIC, and Medical Assistance.




✨D3 SPOTLIGHT: Over the weekend, Council Member Eric Olson (District 3) attended Zion Church's Career and Network Expo, where 750 people met employers from across the region. He also participated in the Riverdale Heights, Riverdale Hills, and Crestwood Block Party!
