Ok golf peeps here鈥檚 the question of the day. If someone was to come to your state and wanted to plan a three day weekend golf trip what would you recommend? Publics and Resorts only and let's keep the driving to say an hour between courses. Annnnnd GO!! #3daygolfweekend
The Prairie Club, Pines Course, Valentine, NE (Graham Marsh) While it starts as "Dunes Lite", it gradually transitions into a routing through the pine trees that line the east side of the Snake River Canyon. A lovely second test that requires maximum focus to the end.
Prairie View Golf Course, Cheyenne, WY Had time to knock out another state before flying back, so I found this 9-holer in Wyoming's capital. What's even better is I was paired up with a couple that was great company for a final, relaxing round on this incredible journey.

Prairie Hills Golf Course, Mission, SD Located not far north of the a Nebraska border, it won't make anyone's Top 100 list. But I enjoyed having dozens of acres to myself for a couple hours on this small-town golf course.
"Life isn't fair, golf shouldn't be either. Play it as it lies. ... except when your ball lands in its own pitch mark in the general area and is embedded. You should get free relief for that."

Wild Horse Golf Club, Gothenburg, NE (Dave Axland and Dan Proctor) Another incredible value course on my trip, and a wonderful introduction to Nebraska golf.

The golf road trip continues! Stopped in Norton, KS to play a 9-hole course called Prairie Dog. My favorite part? After calling the day before, Denise let me know the course wouldn't open until 10 am, but told me she'd leave a cart key in the honor box. Denise = Golf Hero
Call me crazy, but... When a practice swing causes a ball to sink a millimeter further into a lie in the rough, likely making the shot marginally more difficult, the player shouldn't be penalized.

Riverdale Dunes, Brighton, CO (Perry and Pete Dye) 20-25 minutes from Denver Airport, this course is a great option for anyone passing through. At $68 to ride on a weekday, it's serious value for what it offers.
