Just a crazy performance. I'd be sick if I were a Nets fan, but man the energy in the Palace with that gong chiming and the train whistle blowing after each successive make is just insane
The hottest shooting night of Ben Wallace’s life May 20, 2004 — Game 7 vs New Jersey 8/10 FG (made 8 of first 9 shots!) 4 jumpers (!), finished with 18 pts, 8 reb, 2 blk Pistons win 90-69 Mike Tirico on the call as Detroit’s iconic gong and train whistle soundtrack the end of…

2019-20 OKC Thunder Backcourt Squad Chris Paul: 17.6 pts, 5.0 reb, 6.7 ast, 49/37/91 splits (61% ts, 108 ts+) Shai Gilgeous-Alexander: 19.0 pts, 5.9 reb, 3.3 ast, 47/35/81 (56.8% ts, 101 ts+) Dennis Schroder: 18.9 pts, 3.6 reb, 4.0 ast, 47/39/84 (57.5% ts, 102 ts+)

Happy 44th to Zach Randolph! Z-Bo was an All-Star in 2010 + 2013. He was also 3rd Team All-NBA in 2011. He was also Most Improved for Portland in 2004. How consistent was he? Every night from '04-11 (544 games) you could count on 22.4 pts and 11.6 reb (per 75). Like clockwork.

Spencer Haywood had a fascinating career arc - Won MVP as a rookie. 30.0 pts/19.5 reb and almost gets Denver to the Finals - Makes the NBA shift in '71. He's All-NBA from '72-75 (top 5 MVP in '72) - Plays a lesser yet vital role starting at PF for the '80 Lakers and gets his ring

Having a tough time with the heat this summer? Worry not, @CJRealHoops1 and @MediJo20 are hitting the studio soon to cool you off with the frost of the Wasatch Mountains and an episode on one of the greatest runs any team has made that didn't result in a title. COMING SOON!

One of the most ludicrous games of the '90s. Feb. 1998, the 10-39 Mavs were visiting the 35-13 Pacers. The Mavs pulled off a stunning upset 85-82... in 2OT. Yes, 85-82 in double OT. A 24-year old Michael Finley scored 32 points (on 13/36 fg) and made the buzzer-beating 3P.

ICYMI!!

Magic Johnson in the 1987 playoffs avg'd (per 75 possessions): 21.1 PTS, 7.5 REB, 11.8 AST and just 2.7 TOV He also had a TS% of 60.7 Admittedly LA didn't play great defenses in this PS run but this is still ridiculously elite offensive production, he was just peak of powers
Magic Johnson Masterclass Closes Out the Warriors | 1987 WCSF Game 5 19 pts, 13 ast, 2 tov (6.5 ast:tov) 46 pts created in just 35 minutes MAGIC WAS SO GOOD DUDE
This was Bird's 12th career playoff game. After this game his playoff averages read 20.9 PPG/11.8 RPG/5.5 APG The only other two players in NBA history to average 20/11/5 through their first 12 career playoff games are: Oscar Robertson (1962, 1963) Nikola Jokic (2019) CRAZY!
Larry Bird | 1981 ECSF Game 3 vs Chicago 24 pts, 17 reb, 10 ast, 3 stl, 2 blk 48 minutes played 9/19 fg (47%), 6/7 ft (86%), 54% ts
What made peak Yao special (23/10 from ‘06-08): - Elite touch + shooting ability at 7’6” - Patient in the post, excellent footwork - underrated facilitator - huge rim deterrent Such a fun and legitimately good player
If you want to hear a brief dive into Dawkins, here’s a quick episode @MediJo20 did a few years ago on Chocolate Thunder himself! open.spotify.com/episode/7hlB0C…
Darryl Dawkins finding out he was drafted by the 76ers out of high school in 1975.
Fun Fact: Andre Iguodala has 5 buzzer beaters to his name in his career, one of only 11 guys who have made that many in NBA history. Only LeBron, MJ, Kobe, Pierce and Joe Johnson have more than 5. Was Max Kellerman on to something?

From 2012-17 Marc Gasol averaged 4.4 ast per 75 (10.1 assist points) This was 2nd amongst all Centers to log at least 10k minutes during this span (only behind Joakim Noah) Just beautiful
