Alamo Church archaeology update! The presence of mortar and plaster, mule shoes, nails/hardware, brick, and European earthenware ceramic in EU-31 indicates the deposit post-dates the mission period. Several Valero Red Painted sherds in situ were found. bit.ly/44Mqk8E

July's artifact of the month is this Battle of the Alamo painting! 🎨 This painting was produced for the motion picture ”The Alamo” in 1960. This is an iconic image portraying David Crockett, James Bowie, and more fighting against the Mexican Army at the Battle of the Alamo.

To honor those lost and still missing after the devastating Hill Country flooding, a wreath reading Hill Country Strong now rests in front of the Alamo Church. We stand with grieving families, those still awaiting news, and all working toward healing and recovery.

A new cow has arrived at the Alamo! The Alamo has partnered with @CSRFoundations for the CowParade! These cow sculptures by local artists will be auctioned off in September for charity to support children's healthcare. bit.ly/3TgHUux #CowParade2025
