That's easy, have the ventilation release near the barrel's end. Either through a tri vent configuration or underneath the barrel angled downward and forward.
Ooh, but how do I deal with heat venting? The battery mounts to my back, and I hesitate to put the vents on the side of the firing apparatus lest I end up with singed hair.
With the right materials and proper bracing, it shouldn't need much. Power source... Energy based I would imagine with a prism and shudder to adjust the focus of the beam to increase its intensity and effectiveness.
Aims over the shoulder, and rests adjacent to my head. It'll also have a relatively limited turning range when set, so it can never shoot my noggin.

I've got thanagarian processors and worked with Martian code on the watchtower. I can get pretty creative.
The design almost looks alien… Though as far as the power source goes, I always like to suggest solar, it’s efficient and effective.
Hmm... That might be a fun idea to build... Would probably need some kind of back mount, and depending on the projectile nature a power source...
