OPS Traffic Unit enforcement specialists were busy keeping speeds in-check along Fallowfield Rd earlier this afternoon…issuing multiple tickets for Speeding, Obstructed Plates & other Highway Traffic Act violations. Let’s all keep our speeds reasonable & prioritize road safety.

Commercial vehicle & heavy truck road-worthiness is a critical aspect of OPS’ 2025 Enhanced Integrated Enforcement efforts. Earlier this week MTO, OPP & OPS Traffic Unit enforcement specialists inspected 43 vehicles, laid 22 charges & removed 15 vehicles from area roads.

Despite attempting to flee from an OPS Traffic Escort Unit officer; a sport-bike was stopped along Strandherd Dr last Friday night. Further investigation revealed the rider’s license was Suspended. Court date issued for Suspension, no insurance, no plates & vehicle impounded.

This past weekend, during our ongoing #ResidentsMatter enforcement initiative; an OPS Traffic Escort officer engaged a passing van missing a front plate…further investigation revealed that the vehicle was being operated by a Suspended Driver (unpaid fines). Court date issued.

OPS Traffic Unit enforcement specialists continue to prioritize the safety of the men & women working long hours improving our city’s infrastructure…157 & 139 in the 80km/h construction zone on the 174 with workers present resulted in Stunt charges for 2 drivers earlier today.

Another beautiful morning in the Nation’s Capital. OPS Traffic Escort Unit members are proud to carry-on the tradition of assisting with the GGFG Changing of the Guard throughout the summer months…just one aspect of what makes Ottawa such a beautiful city to live in.

High speeds and construction zones are never a good mix; yesterday a member of OPS’ Traffic Escort Unit was able to “pump-the-brakes” on one driver doing 142 thru the 80km/h construction zone along the 174 East near Orleans Blvd. Stunt charge, court date & vehicle impounded.

We tend to see elevated speeds as the temperature rises…OPS Traffic Escort officers continue to hold lead-footed drivers to account along arterial routes including the 174 East with multiple Stunt Driving charges, court dates & impounds since last week…

Outstanding work by our OPS Traffic Escort Unit earlier today…removing another high-risk driver from city streets near Knoxdale & Woodroffe Ave; 37yr old male with Criminal Suspension (Impaired) since 2021…driving while Suspended & no Insurance. Vehicle impounded 45 days.

With Canada Day 2025 in the rear-view…focusing on the road ahead, exercising patience, driving co-operatively & prioritizing pedestrian & cyclist safety is a great way to help make this summer a safe one for our many friends, family members & loved ones. Let’s all do our part.

Removing a Suspended driver (*Criminal Code Dangerous Driving) from the Bank & Rideau Rd area is exactly the kind of high-risk individual OPS Traffic officers track-down on a regular basis thanks in large part to our investment in ALPR technology (one of Tuesday’s many clients).

Starting next week, OPS Frontline & Traffic Escort officers will be deploying to another round of 130 high-complaint residential “Stop Sign” controlled intersections & arterial routes across the city as part of OPS’ 2025 Enhanced Integrated Enforcement Initiative. #RoadSafety

College Square, Hazeldean Mall, Emerald Plaza & Strandherd Dr receiving attention this past weekend as part of OPS’ ongoing #ResidentsMatter enforcement initiative focusing on late-night speeding & disruptive vehicle noise…23 charges including Stunt & Driving While Suspended.

As we ease into summer with temperatures on the rise…today is as good as any to remind dog owners to avoid leaving furry friends unattended in their vehicle on increasingly hot days. Heatstroke can be lethal for dogs after just a short period of time.
Day & Night, Night & Day…OPS Traffic Escort officers putting the brakes on a number of lead-footed drivers along Greenbank Rd yesterday as part of OPS’ 2025 Enhanced Integrated Enforcement Initiative. Our focus on high-risk drivers on arterial routes across the city continues.

OPS Traffic Escort officers issuing multiple Speed, Suspension & No Licence/Insurance charges along March Rd this week. OPS’ Enhanced Integrated Enforcement continues to focus on high-risk drivers along arterial routes leading to & from communities across the city in 2025.

Daycares, summer camp & summer school pick-up’s and drop-off’s still require adherence to a school bus’ flashing lights & Stop-Arm. OPS Traffic Escort officers issued multiple charges near Little Love Daycare on Maitland Ave this week. Let’s all slow down for the kids.

Residents have had enough with high-speeds & disruptive behaviour after the sun goes down; OPS East NRT taking another high-risk driver off the road after midnight this past Sunday morning…144 in the posted 80km/h zone on the 174 results in a Stunt charge, Suspension & tow.
