OPINION: Politics is run by social media trolls "The conduct of the Nevada Republican Party’s official social media account demonstrates just how childish, callous and contemptible political discourse has become online." via @schausmichael @TheNVIndy thenevadaindependent.com/article/opinio…
I think there's a lot to like about Kalshi and a lot that OSB operators should learn from the app. But numbers like this need context to have any meaning. For instance: During the last 6 months, bettors in Colorado alone have wagered about $170 million on ping pong.
Less than 6 months ago, we launched our first sports market. Today, we crossed $2 billion in sports trading volume.
Microbetting is not an actual thing. People keep using it as a term that means a specific thing. It is not and does not. Therefore it’s a completely inappropriate foundation for legislation. Bills like this are a waste of time and a gift to the unregulated market.
A New Jersey lawmaker is proposing to prohibit sportsbook operators from offering microbetting in the state, something that could be of particular concern to a company like DraftKings, which purchased microbetting tech provider Simplebet last year.
Good news, but undoing is harder than doing. I wouldn’t take any of this at face value until you see actual actions backing up the rhetoric.
NEWS from Las Vegas: Ways & Means Chair @RepJasonSmith told me in an interview he wants to REVERSE the gambling tax hike from the One Big Beautiful Bill SMITH said it was a "bad decision" & could "absolutely" be undone by year-end. He floated it as part of a bipartisan package

There's a lot happening in this post.
You know the FAIR BET Act has made it when two prediction markets I am trying to shut down are offering odds on its passage.
