For me, Sephiroth was not born as Hojo & Lucrecia's son. Hojo & Lucrecia came together not because they created a happy family, especially for Hojo. He only had reason for science and knowledge, for Hojo he had no family. Hojo also values Lucrecia as a scientist that he wants.
