Finally got to doing some video things. This one has a lot of flashing lights and is a bit aggressive
3d scanned a subway station today
Was curious about this, overlaid these 2 charts I found with relative peaks at 0 db. Ocean is pretty similar to pink noise whereas highway seems much more even. Could maybe due a bunch of Helmholtz resonators but that would require a lot
i get the random intermittent nature of a not so busy road lacks the periodicity of waves on a beach, but a busy freeway and a waterfall are not so different. can we change car/tire/road noise frequency to approximate water? make a city sound like a sea?
Left my mouse dongle at work. Phone dead. Scrolling twitter on the big external monitor using my xbox controller as a mouse. Chungus life.
On one of the topics I was discussing with @norvid_studies and @fleetingbits last night, preventing buildings from moving or swaying (Demonstration of resonance at different heights, tuned liquid damper, tuned mass damper, base isolation)

Had to do some color stuff today and had this experience with 'color theory experts'

When I’m bored I’ll find objects near me and mentally go through the process of how I would 3D model them. Hours of fun.
Don’t know when else I’d post this but I got horse sashimi from a smoky izakaya in kyoto. 10/10 thing to say you’ve done before 7/10 flavor, was basically just beef tartare
finding out from a japanese friend that the glue factory jokes don't exist in the japanese uma musume fandom bc they just turn the horses into sashimi instead is so funny. Mejiro Ryan Is Going To The Butcher's Shop.
My lifelong habit of discounting ideas from insufferable people has served me very well in my personal life. Unfortunately it also limits me academically
the fact that youtube has a “new to you” tag is crazy. why is that not the default. “you know what i want to see on my home page? a bunch of videos i’ve already watched, or that i’ve seen the thumbnails of and chosen not to watch.”
>guy at work can’t figure out how to name the new SOTA AI model > ask if 4 is better than 3 > he doesn’t understand > explain how most people think about numbers > he laughs and says “it’s a great name dude” > it’s 3o why does this keep happening
>guy at work says AI couldn’t solve simple problem >ask if he’s using SOTA or 4o >he doesn’t understand >explain the difference between models >he laughs and says “it’s good AI dude” >shows me >it’s 4o why does this keep happening

I will see you all there, I’ll be wearing a blue patterned button down and white sneakers (i will still have the boyish charm)
I will see you all there, I’ll be the one with the boyish charm and kind eyes wearing a linen shirt

Earlier this month, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said, regarding Meta’s aggressive poaching spree, “none of our best people have decided to take them up on that.” Today, they’ve lost four key researchers.
