Pheroze Nowrojee was many things: fierce advocate; gentle teacher; eternal believer in the possibility of a just Kenya; creative (non)fiction writer of remarkable elegance! In 2015, I reviewed his family story, “A Kenyan Journey”. I will miss his penmanship and his friendship.
His family history, and this first collection of short stories, you can find at Bookstop Ltd, Yaya Centre. All 3 books are available on Amazon as eBooks, and in print. Finally, print copies of Eburru should be in local book shops very soon.
I once asked Pheroze Nowrojee why they kept challenging President Moi's authoritarian actions in Court in the 1990s when it was clear they would loose every time. He said: "For the record! Nothing is more powerful in history than the record." @ochieljd
“Not all battles are fought for victory. Some are fought simply to tell the world that someone was there on the battlefield.”
SC Pheroz Nowrojee, only 3 weeks ago we met, and reminisced how well you mentored activists from the early 90’s, including myself, incalcating values : the respect for human rights & the rule of law. Teacher of Law, Fighter for Rights, & True Patriot. You will be greatly missed
