This is excellent journalism. Exactly the kind of investigation we need to expose people in power making decisions that do not value the lives of the most vulnerable. Now, we need to hold those decision-makers accountable.

The path forward to capture better/more meaningful data is for every county in every state (especially AZ) to have death investigators start using this fill in the blank form for every death where heat could play a role - whether caused or contributory - cdc.gov/disaster-epide…
Heat deaths are grossly undercounted across the U.S. Here in Arizona, the supposed "model" for the rest of the country, too many heat deaths are still unaccounted for. Excellent reporting by @NicoleSGrigg here at @abc15 on these "hidden heat deaths." abc15.com/news/local-new…
