We won’t discover objective ecclesiology by a subjective exploration of any given tradition. We will only discover objective ecclesiology as we study the objective divine revelation of Scripture, and then find a tradition that is most in keeping with the standard of God’s word.
"To be with Christ who came from heaven to be here on earth with us, and descended that we should ascend; to be with him, who has done and suffered so much for us; to be with Christ who delighted to be with us; to be with Christ who emptied himself, and became of no reputation,…
Paul’s ministry was marked by the strongest doctrinal decisiveness, the clearest repudiation of false teaching and sinful living, the most sincere desire for gracious gospel restoration, and the warmest humble, and nurturing spirit. Resist the urge to choose one over the others.
"Kindness" is a fruit of the Spirit and an apostolic imperative for professing believers to put into practice in their relationships with one another. (2 Cor. 6:6; Gal. 5:22; Eph. 4:32; Col. 3:12). It is grounded on the kindness of God in the gospel (Rom. 2:4; 11:22; Titus 3:4).
I have read through this little book almost once a year throughout my pastorate. It is the single, best book on the cross—next to Krummacher’s ‘Suffering Servant’—in print. I highly recommend reading it if you haven’t already! wtsbooks.com/products/the-c…

"Gospel integrity is, I suggest, the greatest and most vital need of the church today. More than moral behavior and orthodox beliefs, this integrity that we need is a complete alignment of our heads, our hearts, and our lives with the truths of the gospel." – @mike_reeves
The difficult circumstances of our lives are not God‘s problems. He is working out his eternal plan in all the details of the lives of His creatures. They may be our problems—and they may weigh on us accordingly—but they’re not a problem to Him.
I am deeply comforted by the fact that God chose the foolish, base, and weak people to confound the wise so that he gets all the glory (1 Cor. 1:26–31).
The Scriptures teach us that faith is a saving grace—a gift from the God who sent His Son to die for us. —@Nick_Batzig ligm.in/46JoNRS
"It is altogether possible to place an inappropriate value on faith—to view it as a work that we do in order to merit the covenant blessings. There are many well-meaning Christians who view the role of faith in the Christian life in the following way: “Jesus did His part for my…
Saving faith does not lay aside the ethical teaching of Scripture. Rather, it embraces the ethical teaching of Scripture and responds appropriately to it by God’s grace. —@Nick_Batzig ligm.in/46JoNRS
“The foundations of all equity are destroyed when truth has fallen.” – John Murray, 'Principles of Conduct'
Faith is not mere intellectual assent to the truth of God revealed in Scripture. It is a living and active instrument that enables us to do what is pleasing to God. —@Nick_Batzig ligm.in/46JoNRS
“Better is open rebuke than hidden love. Faithful are the wounds of a friend; profuse are the kisses of an enemy” (Prov. 27:5–6).

"A hot-tempered man stirs up strife, but he who is slow to anger quiets contention" (Prov. 15:18). "Have nothing to do with foolish, ignorant controversies; you know that they breed quarrels. And the Lord's servant must not be quarrelsome but kind to everyone, able to teach,…
