“This is just an exhilarating feeling, being able to complete these fetal surgeries for these babies with spina bifida and myelomeningocele,” said Dr. Jason Chu. “It's been just amazing being part of this team and helping out a lot of these patients as well as their families.”

Kudos to Dr. Jason Chu, associate professor of clinical neurological surgery, for performing the state's first successful fetal repair of myelomeningocele—a severe form of spina bifida—at @RileyChildrens! The baby is being monitored and is expected to have better motor outcomes.
