It's so embarrassing to read opinions of spiritual folks about individuals who are actually onto something. Like virgins discussing sex. On P-hub. "It's not love." "The real isn't dirty." "Can't be into there." "Only after marriage." Sure, sure. Like they'll show you.
It might be that we are witnessing the emergence of new ethics. More advanced societies feel like they have a moral right (or even obligation) to cull dangerous population. It's in the social "subconscious" now and may become the new norm. The new world will also be grim.
Those who don't know what they are and believe they're brains with legs will soon be outsmarted by AIs. What is "outsmarted"? It's not new. Religions outsmart humans for ages. "High IQ" helps as a back seat when a plane flies into in a mountain. Get out or fasten your seatbelt
I was thinking about a future society in which only developed individuals have certain rights. Vote, be elected, be CEO... whatever. Exams โ corruption. How else? Listening @danielmingram about his research, it clicked. Go into an fMRI, show the pattern, and get your ballot.
"This nonsense can't work." Yet someone gets results with it. Don't dismiss it so quickly. What actually works? Now discard it.
There was a girl who was raised by people. She believed that she is a human.
Logic 101: The opposite of "love" is not "hate". It's "not love". The opposite of "hate" is not "love". It's "not hate". It's possible to experience simultaneously: love and hate not love and not hate love and not hate not love and hate (+ more combinations)
The way to sanity: I am the infinite universe โ I have a feeling that I am the infinite universe โ There is a feeling that I am the infinite universe โ There is a feeling labeled "I am the infinite universe" โ What are the actual specific sensations?
I don't trust that ethics-through-unity can work. Some who feel like everything is part of them claim that harming anything is the same as harming self. They are one step away from realizing that everything is already harming itself and is fine with it. Why not harm it too?
So, you had a trip. You experienced non-duality. You discovered that everything is the same. Caring and not caring are the same. Nihilism seems like the only logical answer. Why not try to care instead?
