Someone please stop these clueless opportunistic politicians taking absolute nonsense about disabilities. This is all about a headline grab, nothing more. Its shameful.
Hi everyone, I’m about to make one of the most exciting announcements of my career but before I do that, I need to let you know that my shows this month are moving to October. I’m devastated to have to move the shows as you know how much I love performing for you all, but…

“If we can afford not to have a wealth tax, not to equalise capital gains, or draw on the excess profits of corporate greed; then we can afford PIP for a disabled person.” Labour MP Rachael Maskell gave a passionate and emotive speech at the welfare bill debate in commons this…
Absolutely spot on with this
These concessions aren't enough and they should worry us all. If you become disabled tomorrow, you risk not having the support you need. We would be condemning future generations of disabled people to greater poverty. I will be voting against the Bill.
Is anyone going to politely suggest to him that it might be a good idea to read the room?
Starmer defiant over cuts despite major rebellion among Labour MPs news.sky.com/story/pm-repea…
I’m not holding my breath but this appears to be a really important development. If true, Liz Kendall and Stephan Timms should resign, and serious questions need to be asked of the PM & Chancellor over their treatment of the disabled community
Important story by @romillyweeks. This widely backed reasoned amendment that she says will be tabled tonight has the potential to kill the government’s reforms to PIP snd the disability elements of Universal Credit. This would be a huge humiliation for Keir Starmer and Liz…
Thank you @vickyfoxcroft for supporting the disabled community and choosing people’s lives over these awful, heartless cuts. Cuts to PIP and the health element of Universal Credit is not, and should never be the answer to saving money.
(1/2) With a heavy heart, I have written to the Prime Minister to tender my resignation as a whip. Whilst I will continue to support the government in delivering the change the country so desperately needs, I cannot vote in favour of the proposed reforms to disability benefits.
Keir Starmer braces for biggest backbench rebellion yet as ‘horrendous’ welfare cuts spark immediate backlash Charities warned Keir Starmer’s cuts will drive disabled people into poverty independent.co.uk/news/uk/politi…
The government claims cutting disability benefits is about getting people into work. They haven't produced any evidence backing this up. An FOI request has revealed that these cuts would remove PIP from 281,000 of the 510,000 claimants currently in work #TakingThePIP
Yesterday the Government published its Universal Credit and Personal Independence Payment Bill confirming their plans to cut disability benefits. Join the campaign to #ProtectOurBenefits bit.ly/4jOoZTO (1/2)
The Independent Alliance has tabled the following amendment to the Government's disability cuts Bill. MPs should think long and hard about the dreadful consequences these cuts will have. Rest assured, we will keep campaigning for the rights of disabled people to live in dignity.
🚨 CONFIRMED: The UK government is pushing through cruel cuts to social security with a new Bill. They’re ignoring the alternative staring them in the face: taxing the super rich.
This bill will bring forward the most devastating cuts to disability benefits on record. The government's own impact assessment report says 250,000 people could be pushed into poverty. This bill if passed will be a stain on the Labour Party for years to come. I urge Labour…
Thank you for standing up for the disabled community. I wish more of colleagues would do the same
Today the government will introduce legislation to slash disability benefits by £7bn, pushing 300,000 people into poverty—including 50,000 children. It’s completely wrong to target savings from a group already more likely to live in poverty after years of austerity and cuts.
