Hot and dry conditions are likely to continue through at least the next several days. Heat index values are expected to rise to 105-110 degrees. Some parts of the state could see heat index values in excess of 110 degrees. Please stay cool! #arwx



WEDNESDAY FORECAST—Not much relief from the heat overnight across Arkansas with most of the state expected to reach or exceed the century mark on Wednesday afternoon. Heat Index values will again be elevated and dangerous across the state! Plan your day accordingly. #arwx




The current duration of dangerous heat index values will likely persist through early next week. Prolonged heat can have significant physical impacts to those who spend significant amounts of time outside. Attached is a chart highlighting the effect of heat on the body. #arwx

An Extreme Heat Warning continues for parts of C, NC , SE, and SW AR through 9 PM Thur PM. Surrounding the Extreme Heat Warning is a Heat Advisory for the rest of AR. High temps thru Thur will range from the mid 90s to 100° each day. #arwx


Good Morning Arkansas! It's a new day, but the same story. Hazardous heat and humidity remains in place, and triple digit afternoon heat is expected across central to east Arkansas. #arwx



An Extreme Heat Warning has been issued for portions of C, NC, SE, E, & W AR thru 9 pm Thur. Surrounding the Extreme Heat Warning is a Heat Advisory that will run during the same time frame. Some minor adjustments possible to both heat products. #arwx

Good Morning Arkansas! More of the same can be expected today (unfortunately...). Most of the state will be under a Heat Advisory or Extreme Heat Warning, so be sure to take your heat precautions, and know the signs of heat-illnesses! #arwx



Slight modification to heat hazards for Monday. Trimmed back the area of Extreme Heat Warning to account for better moisture mixing (lower dew pts) in the lower atmosphere, similar to what has been observed the previous two days. A Heat Advisory still encompasses all of AR. #arwx

Warm overnight lows Monday morning will lead into some very hot temperatures Monday afternoon. #arwx


There are not many ways to say it is going to be hot and humid other than to say its going to be hot and humid. Every county in Arkansas is under some type of heat warning on Monday with dangerous heat index values forecast for most of next week. Stay safe out there. #arwx

Extended above-average temperatures and humidity will continue this week. This long-duration event increases the chances of heat-related illnesses. Know the signs of Heat Exhaustion or Stroke and check on those who are most vulnerable to heat.

The heat is on across the mid south and while the weekend will be hot and humid, data is showing Tuesday through Thursday could actually be even worse. Now would be an excellent time to review your hot weather safety rules as you will likely need them. #arwx


Today will be another day with extreme heat, but it will not be the hottest day looking into next week. Below shows the probability of >100°F. Tue - Thu are looking to be the hottest days of the year for AR. Keep hydrated and make sure you find a cool place for a few hours a day.
